4.
Why is green tea considered to be so beneficial?
Green tea’s health benefits have been have been researched
extensively over the past decade. The findings have focused on a group of
naturally occurring antioxidants in green tea: polyphenols, flavonoids,
and catechins. Science is just beginning to discover what nature has known
for millions of years.

5. Can you please explain antioxidants, free radicals,
polyphenols, flavonoids, and catechins?
Antioxidants help protect your body at the cellular level - where
all health begins - by helping to eliminate free radicals. A diet rich in
fruits, vegetables and tea is a great way to ensure that we get enough life-preserving
antioxidants.
Free radicals are atoms with unpaired electrons.
They permanently damage our cells by stealing electrons from the cell wall,
DNA, or other internal cell components. Free radicals are part of normal
cell metabolism but their numbers increase dramatically when exposed to
damaging environmental conditions like pollution, UV radiation, cigarette
smoke and other environmental stresses. Free radicals have been implicated
in accelerated aging and the development of degenerative diseases.
Polyphenol is a broad class of antioxidants found in green tea,
including flavonoids and catechins.
Flavonoids are phytonutrients (nutrients from plants) with powerful
antioxidant benefits. There are twelve types of flavonoids, and one plant
species may contain hundreds of different flavonoids.
Catechins are a type of flavonoid contained in the leaves of tea.
Catechins are some of nature’s most powerful antioxidants, offering
even more free-radical protection than Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and
Beta-Carotene

6. How much caffeine is in a serving of Steaz?
An 8oz. serving of Steaz contains about 10 mg of caffeine. For
comparison, coffee has about 100 mg/cup. And, unlike most sodas which add
caffeine, the caffeine in Steaz occurs naturally.
